The joint pieces are then quilted with kantha and a layer of soft cotton. Such kantha pieces not only keep the art alive but also provide for the artisans, in villages around specially women, with a supporting income. The fact that these are linen cotton jackets makes them extra special, as linen is a superior fabric, much stronger. The jackets have soft cotton fabric on the inside and beautiful linen kantha patchwork on the outside.
